Pacman 30th anniversary google homepage. I could be wrong but I believe this is the first interactive google homepage. If this is the case, it would also mark googles first homepage ad since Pacman is not only an icon but trademarked NAMCO character.
The Pacman homepage appears to be a pacman javascript function. There is no loader which is bad web behavior since you have no idea that the game is playable for the first 5 seconds while the code/graphics and sound load. So,basically to make this experience possible for the 5% of people that don’t have flash on their machine, Google decided to make the experience crappy for 95% of the people with a computer bought after 1995. I did load google classic on my iphone and noticed I got a jittery version of the game “running” although I, of course, had no way of playing the game since there are no arrow keys on my phone.
